The statement that the farmers are not allowed to replant the seed is only partially true, because they are not only not allowed to do so, but it also is impossible to replant F1 seed and get good harvest results. The parents are usually varieties not suitable for commercial agricultural production and even if replanted, they would not yield. So one day, when enough farmers won’t be able to buy the excessively expensive seed anymore because they are bankrupt, there will be a huge seed shortage.

  10. This is a great tactic to bring the farmers to bankruptcy. Then Maonsanto could own the land too. (Major sarcasm). It is about the same thing that happened to the farmers in the U.S. John Steinbeck illustates the “game” very well in “The Grapes of Wrath”

  11. @babner And that one cannot disrupt their ecosystem in this way, without consequences. Changes in the environment affect the taste of wine, remember? How much more of an effect will come from these other, broader changes? Who can say?

    Considering this, we across many lines of backgrounds are united in our need to preserve our very sustenance. This should be our top priority, and we need to take this story to heart. We are already in the same boat, and it will become clearer over time.
    They slip their products into processed foods. Please, try to reduce those!
    Eat whole fruits, solid meats.

  21. @MeltedPearls thanks for the information. I mean what is horrible is that these people are already poor. They make more money on the middle class in this country when they do this stuff. I did see a film called The Corporation or some other documentary, was it Food Inc.? I do not remember. But a farmer with a seed cleaning machine in the upper midwest used his life savings to fight against Monsanto. He lost. Of course.

  23. Monsanto operates under another name, just in case you don’t know. It’s Solutia, being that most Americans know about them already, and hate them.

    They had to pay sooooo much money to Anniston, Alabama’s poorest, mostly black residents, after poisoning their neighborhood and parts of two counties, including at least two major creeks. The fish came from the creek with holes in them.

    Buy heirloom seeds, or any besides hybrid. Don’t feed the beast. Feed yourself.
